Montana-Dakota Utilities provides service to approximately 24,000 electric and 76,100 natural gas customers in 54 communities in the Big Sky State.

Montana-Dakota's utility operations are regulated by the Montana Public Service Commission through rates and tariffs filed and approved by the Commission.
Montana Community Renewable Energy Projects (RFP):
Montana-Dakota Utilities is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit responses from developers of Montana Community Renewable Energy Projects. The goals of the Community Renewable Energy Resource Projects are:
- Support the local economy in areas of Montana served by Montana-Dakota
- Support and promote environmentally respoinsible and cost effective electric generation processes for Montana-Dakota's customers
- Support projects that meet the State of Montana's requirements as defined in Montana Code Annotated ("MCA") Section 69-3-2003(4) for a Community Renewable Energy Project.
Montana-Dakota desires to incorporate community renewable energy projects into its generation portfolio from Montana resources through long-term power purchase agreements.
