Conservation Rebates Available June 1, 2010 

Montana-Dakota has been awarded a grant that is funded through the American Recovery Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and administered by the North Dakota Department of Commerce - Office of Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency.  This grant award offers financial incentives to encourage residential consumers to initiate electric conservation measures in their homes and are available to Montana-Dakota's residential electric customers in North Dakota.

Rebates will be issued for equipment purchased and installed between June 1, 2010 and December 31, 2011.  Funding for these programs is limited and rebates will be paid on a first come first served basis.  Rebates are limited to one per customer per rebate category, with a maximum payout of $5,000 per customer.  A full listing of program terms and conditions are on page two of the forms.

The following outlines a summary of the programs available.  

 

Residential Electric Central Air Conditioning Program:

Montana-Dakota residential electric customers who purchase and install a high efficiency electric central conditioner with a 14.5 SEER/12EER or greater rating qualify for the following rebates:

Electric Central Air Conditioner  Rebate
14.5 SEER/12 EER rating or greater $100/ton
16 SEER/13 EER rating or greater $200/ton

The air conditioning rebate is limited to a 5.5 ton capacity.  If the unit exceeds a capacity of 5.5 tons the customer will not qualify for a rebate under this program.

To apply for the Electric Central Air Conditioning rebate, fill out the following form, include a copy of the dealer sales invoice (with the brand, model number, serial number and installation date), a copy of the AHRI certificate and send it to Montana-Dakota:

Residential Electric Thermal Storage Program:

Montana-Dakota residential electric customers who purchase and install a brick electric thermal storage unit with a high efficiency air source heat pump qualify for a rebate of $60/kW (maximum capacity of the thermal storage unit is 38.4 kW) if the equipment installed meets the following criteria:

Air Source Heat Pump - 8.2 HSPF/13 SEER/ 12 EER or greater rating

Brick Thermal Storage Unit - Maximum capacity of 38.4 kW

All thermal storage installations must also include a new air source heat pump installation in order to qualify for this rebate.

To apply for the Electric Thermal Storage rebate, fill out the following form, include a copy of the dealer sales invoice (with brand, model number, serial number and installation date) and sind it to Montana-Dakota:
