Effective Monday, December 5th Montana-Dakota has closed the Natural Gas Attic Insulation Program
Effective Monday December 5, 2011, Montana-Dakota is closing the Natural Gas Attic Insulation Rebate program. Montana-Dakota will only accept rebate applications for attic insulation installed on or before December 5, 2011.
Montana-Dakota's Natural Gas Heating, Water Heating, Wall Insulation and Residential Energy Audit Conservation Rebate Programs End December 31, 2011: All equipment must be purchased and installed on or before December 31, 2011 in order to qualify for the rebate program. Montana-Dakota will be accepting rebate applications until February 15, 2012. Any rebate applications received after February 15 will not be processed for payment.
Montana-Dakota has been awarded a grant that is funded through the American Recovery Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and administered by the North Dakota Department of Commerce - Office of Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency. This grant award offers financial incentives to encourage residential consumers to initiate natural gas conservation measures in their homes and are available to Montana-Dakota's residential natural gas customers in North Dakota.
Rebates will be issued for equipment purchased and installed between June 1, 2010 and December 31, 2011. Funding for these programs is limited and rebates will be paid on a first come first served basis. Rebates are limited to a maximum payout of $5,000 per residential customer. Montana-Dakota Energy Conservation Programs
Residential Natural Gas Heating Program:
Montana-Dakota residential natural gas customers who purchase and install a natural gas furnace with an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) of 90% or greater qualify for the following rebates:

To apply for the Natural Gas Heating rebate, fill out the following form, include a copy of the dealer sales invoice (with the brand, model number, serial number and installation date), a copy of the AHRI certificate and send it to Montana-Dakota:

Residential Natural Gas Water Heating Program:
Montana-Dakota residential natural gas customers who purchase and install a high efficiency natural gas water heater with an Energy Factor (EF) of .62 or greater qualify for the following rebates:

Residential Wall Insulation Program:
Montana-Dakota residential natural gas customers who are enhancing their existing home with additional wall insulation qualify for the following rebates. In order to qualify for the program the beginning R-value for wall insulation cannot be greater than R-0. Rebates are available for both contractor and self installed projects. In order for self-installed projects to be considered for the rebate the customer must have an energy audit performed on the home.

Residential Energy Audit Program:
Montana-Dakota residential natural gas customers who have an energy audit performed on their home are eligible for a rebate of up to $125.00. The customer is responsible to pay the first $30.00 of the cost of the audit, and Montana-Dakota will provide a rebate on the difference, up to a maximum of $125.00.
To apply for the Energy Audit rebate, fill out the following form, include a copy of the energy audit report, contractor invoice (including date energy audit performed) and send it to Montana-Dakota:

Rebate Payments:
Rebate payments will be issued in the form of a U.S. Bank® Rebate Visa® Card, for residential customers receiving rebates of $1,000 or less. Rebate payments of more than $1,000 will be issued in the form of a check. Montana-Dakota does not issue rebates in the form of a utility bill credit.
The U.S. Bank Rebate Visa Card cannot be reloaded with additional funds, nor can it be used at an ATM (Automated Teller Machine). Terms and conditions apply and other fees may apply to Rebate Cards.
